Pharma Technology Appoints Lead Engineer

Pharma Technology Inc. (PTI) has retained the services of Chris Hofman as its Support Specialist in North America. Mr. Hofman will be responsible for the company’s expanded capabilities in North America, overseeing installation, start-up, training, calibration validation for PTI’s tablet presses, dedusters and metal detection systems, as well as servicing and troubleshooting. As part of his consulting role, Mr. Hofman will advise PTI’s new and existing customers on potential improvements to manufacturing processes, including formulation, tableting, coating, granulation and fluid bed technologies.
 
PTI recently opened headquarters in New Jersey to establish a presence in North America to service all new and existing customers in the U.S., Canada and Puerto Rico with spare parts and equipment maintenance programs. It also will serve as the exclusive distributor of the FlexiTab single station R&D tablet press from Germany-based manufacturer Roeltgen.
 
Mr. Hofman has 20 years of experience having worked for the pharmaceutical industry in R&D and manufacturing positions, as well as field service specialist roles at leading manufacturing equipment specialists. Most recently, he spent four years as a service engineer with OYSTAR North America, an engineering consultant for Sage Engineering, and earlier in his career, held process and production positions with Apotex Pharmaceuticals and TorPharm.
